The Ros Tapestry
The Ros Tapestry project is ongoing since 1998. The project involves 150 stitchers creating 15 giant tapestries. It depicts Norman History linking all sites in Ireland’s Ancient East.
Ros Tapestry is one of the largest series of embroidered tapestries in Europe.
The Ros Tapestry is currently on loan to the OPW in Kilkenny Castle in Kilkenny city where the exhibition is available for public viewing. The gallery in New Ross, Co Wexford is closed at present.
It is anticipated that the Ros Tapestry will return to New Ross in 2023, when Wexford County Council has developed the planned Norman Museum at the Quay in New Ross. Queries may be directed to Board members at either of the following telephone numbers, 087 245 1386 or 087 679 2979.
