Wonderous Watersports

River kayaking with Gopaddle.ie

With so many incredible beaches and scenic rivers around Wexford, it’s no surprise that the county boasts some of the best watersports providers in Ireland. This is great news for aquatic adventurers of all ages, but this summer it’s the kids that will have all the fun at one of the camps run by our members.

Adventure seekers can learn to kayak with the friendly and experienced team at Gopaddle.ie. Exciting 4 day river kayaking camps run throughout July and August (until August 18th) at Edermine Bridge. These camps are suitable for ages 8-16 and are priced at €115 per person (family discounts are also available). No prior experience is necessary, although children should be comfortable in and around water. Kayak campers will develop new skills, make new friends, learn about water safety and take part in a thrilling end of camp river adventure.

The popular Surf Shack offers spectacular kids camps for ages 6-16 in both of its locations (Curracloe and Rosslare) throughout the summer months. In Curracloe, camps run every Monday to Wednesday and Thursday to Saturday, and in Rosslare camps run every Thursday to Saturday. All camps are 3 days long and start times vary (see The Surf Shack Ireland for further information). All activities are safe and although good swimming ability is encouraged, it is not a requirement for the camp. The numerous activities on offer include water safety skills, eco education, surfing, paddle boarding, sand-boarding, power kiting & beach challenges. All necessary gear and equipment is provided. Prices are as follows: 1 Day Kids Camp: €35; 2 Day Kids Camp: €70; 3 Day Kids Camp: €100.
